We started prepping this oceanfront Jersey Shore home about two weeks ago for a new elevated foundation. The catch is that we are jacking this 105-ton house WITH THE SLAB floor/foundation. The crew spent the first week tunneling under the house, through the sand, to set 24 jacks.
Today the house is safely lifted 4 feet … this is about half of the final lift height of 10 feet.
The team now moves to phase two, which consists, in part, of assembling a steel foundation frame.
